Review

BWMeter is a bandwidth meter for Windows platforms. I don't know why these meters are so expensive. I remember having one when I was using Windows and it was free. It was absolutely awesome, too. It looks a lot like this one, but without the price tag. BWMeter allows you to track your bandwidth usage by means of graphs. The graphs show your incoming traffic as green lines and your outgoing traffic as red lines. You can even tell the application to show the numbers that correspond to the traffic. The application is real-time, so you will see how much your network interfaces are sending and receiving at all times. BWMeter can read from all your network interfaces at once. It supports ADSL, Ethernet, Dial-up, and Wireless interfaces. You can set the application's transparency level to a value near 0 to be able to see your usage, while not having a bright application on top at all times. The newest version even includes support for 64 bit operating systems, which assures you that whatever version of Windows you have, you will be able to run BWMeter. The application works great, it is stable, but a little bit on the expensive side. The latest version of this application is 4.2.1. However, this review deals with version 4.2.
Advantages

  • Looks good.
  • It is stable.
  • Many visualization options.
Disadvantages
